SUPERB ANTIQUE SWISS ENAMEL MINIATURE LANDSCAPE CASTLE CALLENBURG w/ PROVENANCE

A fascinating and superb quality, solid 14 carat gold brooch set with a stunning hand-painted Swiss enamel miniature on porcelain, depicting a German castle.
The painting is excellent, from a picturesque distance and with superb detail throughout. It's accompanied by a letter of provenance identifying it as Rosenau Castle and giving a royal connection in that it was given by Queen Victoria to one Mrs Marston, a member of her household between 1843 and 1868. I've done a little research and can confirm the castle is actually Callenberg Castle, a castle 7 km away from Rosenau so although not exactly as the note says, we can be fairly certain it's only slightly mistaken and the rest is probably true or very close to it.
The brooch is wonderful quality throughout, with extremely high quality fittings and in unusually excellent condition with only a tiny fleabite just noticeable to the right hand side of the image.
It dates from around 1860, weighs 17.4 grams and measures 1.75 x 1.25 inches.
