c1880s Gorgeous Victorian 14k Gold Madeira Citrine Seed Pearl Pin / Brooch
Presented is a fabulous Victorian 14 karat gold, citrine and seed pearl pin or
brooch. This piece dates to around 1875-1895, and is American in origin. The
brooch is set with a gorgeous oval cut citrine of about 30.5 carats in size,
beautifully cut and faceted to maximize its depth and clarity. The citrine is a
vibrant dark amber or honey color, very rich and stately. Surrounding the
citrine is a border of real natural seed pearls, securely prong set. The pin
closes with an old C style clasp.
This piece is in great condition. The citrine is securely set, with no chips.
The pearls are all intact and in good shape. The clasp functions well and closes
securely.
This piece is not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested it with nitric
acid and guarantee each part to be 14 karat gold.
The pin is about 1 1/4 inches long.
The pin weighs 13.3 grams.
